There are four major wine regions in Tuscany, each boasting DOCG wines: Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, Vino Nobile di Montepuciano and White Vernaccia of San Gimignano. You can choose any one of the four regions for your one day tour and Franco will customize the day for you so you can maximize your experience. No matter which region you choose, Franco will teach you the history of wine production in Tuscany and during all wine tastings, he will guide you through the process of evaluating the wine. You could choose between these tours: Brunello di Montalcino Tour, Chianti Region Tour, Nobile di Montepulciano Tour , White Vernaccia Tour (San Gimignano and Volterra). Your accommodation in Firenze: Antiche Dimore Fiorentine, all located in historical buildings or in little charming ville dating back to the turn-of-the-century, each one different from the last, but all with the same hallmark – the charm and comfort of a private house with a smiling, discreet staff attending to every whim. You will enjoy the elegance and relaxing atmosphere of a handsome Florentine residence just around the corner from the museums, the artisan workshops, the markets and designer boutiques of Florence. With all the amenities of a good hotel and a friendly staff at your beck and call.

Day 2 Florence

Day 3 Florence-Chianti

Breakfast at la Dimora. Today we have prepared for you a private one day Chianti wine tour. Your guide will pick up for this amazing tour. The Chianti Classico is the widest wine area in Tuscany. The Chianti is between Siena and Florence, famous not only for the wine but also for the reason of the longest war ever between two cities, from the beginning of the medieval until 1555, when Siena lost the war. The fight was to draw boundaries and establish which was the area of Siena and the capital of Tuscany. Tour descripction: This tour takes you into the heart of the Chianti Classico wine territory between Florence and Sienna. Your transport will be a minibus which is the most relaxing way to see the countryside without having to concern yourselves with winery appointments, road signs and traffic fines and you’ll enjoy the wine tasting with your personal sommelier. You will learn how Chianti Classico wine is made and, during a walk through the vineyard, you’ll study the characteristics of the main tuscan grape, sangiovese, as well as the characteristics of the soil of this region. If in season, you will have the opportunity to taste sangiovese grapes straight off the vine. Next, we drive to one of the most beautiful and charming castle wineries in the area where we will enjoy the ancient castle and the mediaeval cellars, as well as the historic rooms and with their wonderful 16 C frescoes. The wine tasting in the castle with two of their best red wines is accompanied by a selection of traditional tuscan ham, salami and cheese and their olive oil. Here, at the first vineyard, you’ll hear a full discussion of the wines and olive oil. We'll have a delicious lunch in a nice restaurant or directly at the castle.

Our second stop will be Greve in Chianti, the market town of Chianti Classico, where we will stroll around to enjoy this pleasant village with its shops and handicrafts, or an ancient castellated village, Montefioralle, an 11th Century jewel. Our third stop will be in another gorgeous winery, one of the most beautiful XIII century VIllas in the Classico area.
