Traditional food storage and preservation methods
When you talk about food storage and preservation methods with your parents - grand parents (65 years and older) they come up with amazing food storage methods and preservation examples.

E.g. Ising glass. You could buy it at the chemist and you dissolved it in water and dipped your eggs in it. It coated the shell of the egg to stop the air getting inside, but if you only had a few to do and you had some lard it was better to rub some lard on your hands and then coat your eggs in that to stop the air getting in. They didn't keep though for as long as they did with ising glass. They used this method up to the 60's but everybody seems to have forgotten about this.

Deligogo is looking for examples of traditional food storage and preservation methods before nobody remembers them anymore. Anybody out there happy to share these examples - from all types of cultures and climates - all around the globe?
