We enjoyed an excellent evening of wine tasting in the heart of Rome with Sarah and a tour of Trastevere and the Jewish Ghetto and a tour of Ostia Anticca with Ettore.
The wine tasting was a great introduction to Roman night life while also being extremely informative and fun. We chose Antiqua Tours for our visit because we had already been to Rome two years ago and had tours with Sarah at the Forum and Colosseum and the Vatican, which were excellent. We have already recommended Antiqua Tours to friends and co-workers and a number of them have already had tours with Sarah and had rave reviews as well. This time around we wanted to get a feel for the city outside of the touristy areas. Sarah is knowledgable about wine and Roman culture. The wine tasting was so much fun, really the highlight of our time in Rome. We tasted 5 excellent wines and enjoyed amazing food with the wines. We also learned about the diverse world of Italian wines. I enjoyed how much fun we had and how we got a feel for Rome. Trastevere and the Jewish Ghetto were unbelieveable. It was incredible to learn about these areas with a guide. We visited 2 underground sites and got a feel for another side of Roman life. Ostia Antica was a true treat. I can't recommend this tour enough. We went with the charming Ettore, who is more a less a walking encyclopedia of Roman history. It was so much more interesting with a guide and I think I came a way with a feel for how ancient Romans lived.
