We are situated in the midst of the most dramatic and varied landscape. Within the valley we have the harsh jagged rocks of the mountains and all around the studio on steep hillsides are extensive almond and olive terraces dotted with the ruins of old casitas. The beautiful village of Tarbena and the quiet hamlet of Casivanyes are both very close and with the addition of an architectural element these are subjects with exciting visual possibilities. We can start the week by covering the fundamentals of landscape painting at the studio and then spend most of our time learning by painting and drawing at various sites nearby. Traditional techniques of oil and acrylics painting are taught but experiment is also encouraged. We are very happy to teach from beginner to experienced and from traditional to abstract. We are totally flexible and open to your requirements so the course content is always likely to be different.
